Railway Alternative: Compare Hosting and Costs
Compare VibeNest hardware tiers with Railway's subscription and resource usage model. The right choice depends on the app, database and other services you run.
One Free server per account, with no credit card and no expiry.
VibeNest and Railway at a glance
These are different billing and runtime models, not equal-resource price quotes. Include your application, database, storage and optional services in the total.
| What to compare | VibeNest | Railway |
|---|---|---|
| Runtime | Container hosting for supported GitHub applications; managed PostgreSQL and MySQL are available. | Application and database services with resource-based billing. |
| Hardware and usage cost | Paid hardware plans start at $7.00 per month. AI credits and optional services are separate. | Hobby has a $5 monthly minimum including $5 of resource usage. Usage above the included amount increases the bill; this is not a flat price for an unlimited stack. |
| Free option | One Free server per account, with no credit card and no expiry. Includes 256 MB RAM, 0.5 vCPU and 4 GB storage and an HTTPS VibeNest subdomain. | A trial credit and a Free plan are available with their own resource and usage limits. |
Every deployed app gets an HTTPS VibeNest subdomain. Self-service custom domains are not available yet.
Before you move your app
List each service, its environment variables, volumes and database connections before moving. Size the combined workload and verify persistent data after migration.
Railway may suit workloads where flexible resource usage is useful. VibeNest offers predefined hardware tiers and AI-assisted diagnosis; compare equivalent resources and all required services.
1. Connect your repository
Use a public GitHub URL or connect the read-only VibeNest GitHub App for the exact private repository. Review the detected runtime and build settings.
2. Configure dependencies
Provide required secrets and database settings. Size the app and services for your server; the Free tier will not fit every workload.
3. Verify the live app
Open the HTTPS VibeNest address and test the app's main flow, database access and persistent files. Build success alone does not prove the app works.
Frequently asked questions
What does VibeNest cost? +
One Free server per account, with no credit card and no expiry. Includes 256 MB RAM, 0.5 vCPU and 4 GB storage and an HTTPS VibeNest subdomain. Paid hardware plans start at $7.00 per month. AI credits and optional services are separate.
Can I connect my own domain on VibeNest? +
Every deployed app gets an HTTPS VibeNest subdomain. Self-service custom domains are not available yet.
What happens if deployment fails? +
AI Deploy Rescue reads build and runtime evidence, explains a likely cause, and suggests a next step. Supported fixes can be reviewed before applying them. Missing secrets and application code changes may still need your input. Platform-triggered AI Deploy Rescue is paid for by VibeNest. Other AI tools can use credits; check the displayed cost before running them.
Does moving PostgreSQL move the entire backend? +
Managed PostgreSQL is available. Your app and database must fit the selected resources; moving a database does not automatically move authentication, file storage, realtime subscriptions, or functions.
